I just came across a post about a radio program I was invited to participate a few years back. I had done a custom implementation of LTSP with a Point of Sale system for the Shell Livewire program. People never realized what you could do with old hardware so I was invited to talk about recycling old hardware. Six years on I tend to think that the way processing power has expanded has gone to waste as we are at a point where all talks lead to virtualization and/or efficient use of resources. Be it in the server space or desktop most enterprises today are looking at solutions that are close to the original designs of mainframes and thin clients.
